Singer/songwriter Doug Jayne has fronted the mildly-popular Northern California bands, Stupid White People and Loser Friendly.
"It Looks Like She's Going On A Trip" is Doug's solo CD debut: 12 songs (11 originals) featuring a stellar musical line-up including Blues Legend Charlie Musselwhite, singers Gail Muldrow & Jackie Payne from The Johnny Otis Band, drummer Gary Silva
from Elvin Bishop & Norton Buffalo's bands.
The songs are "middle-aged angst," often humorous; in fact a drunk person once compared Doug's songs to WarrenZevon's...

Kevin Russell is known primarily as the guitarist and vocalist for the contemporary bluegrass band, Modern Hicks. He steps out on this collection of folk, country & western swing gems with a number of friends & musical hero's. Like, Laurie Lewis, Tom Rozum, Jim Hurst, Missy Raines, Joe Goldmark, Bobby Black & Tony Marcus.

This eclectic CD brings together some well-known classics songs, some songs from contemporary songwriters and some originals. It's acoustic & it's electric & it's just a whole lotta fun!

CONNECTIONS conn01

A collection of Sonoma County musicians, including Charlie Musselwhite, karry walker , Solid Air and Loser Friendly. Released in 1996 as a benefit CD to public radio, CONNECTIONS has received critical praise. The San Francisco Examiner Magazine called it " music for the mind, body and soul ". Beautifully packaged with a great, written introduction by Johnny Otis .
The second CD by The Ruminators , an original folk-rock ensemble that features jangly guitars, accordian, mandolin, fiddle, bass and percussion. Singer Jennifer Goudeau has a gorgeous voice, and group leader Greg Sherer writes terrific songs. The Ruminators' original music has been compared to Bruce Cockburn and Fairport Convention. " Wild West " got great reviews in "Dirty Linen" magazine and The San Francisco Chronicle . It was released in 1998.

Out Among The Stars JKLP1245

The debut CD by Northern California's premier Contemporary Bluegrass band 'Modern Hicks ' features cover songs by Gillian Welch, Jesse Winchester and Hunter/Garcia. " Out Among The Stars " is stirring quite a buzz around radio stations that play Americana, Folf & Bluegrass, including KRSH/Santa Rosa, KPFA/San Francisco, KSCN/Northridge and KRCB/Rohnert Park. Released August 1999
Debut CD by popular Northern California singer/songwriter Tony Gagarin , a former street singer (sans the cardboard sign) and a veteran of the folk music scene. In the early 1970s Tony became friends with Kate Wolf and Nina Gerber ----Nina plays guitar on much of Tony's album, including "Angel For The Choir". a beautiful tribute to Kate in which Nina plays Kate's old guitar! " One Lifetime's Not Enough " includes some nice instrumental tracks along with original vocal songs, and a RIPPIN' version of Robert Johnson 's "Ramblin' Blues". Uncle Yuri would be proud....Released October 1999

The second CD released by Greenhouse , and the first for them on Jackalope records. The five piece band blends the New and The old in what they call Celtic Folk Fusion. Acoustic guitar, fiddle, mandolin and tin-whistle meet with percussion, didgeridoo and thrilling vocal harmonies in a Celtic Folk Fusion that is sometimes mellow, sometimes hard- driving, but always interesting and eminently listenable.

One of the best records of 1999. A triumphant work that was recorded in the syummer of the same year. Danny Sorentino is a talented songwriter whose work has appeared in motion pictures and television programs, and has released five previous albums. " All Good Things " demonstrates a craftmanship of songwriting not often heard in today's music. Best of all, this album rocks! Like a good Jackson Browne or Tom Petty record it hits you in the gut, in the heart and gets your toes tappin'. The musical equivalent of a home-run in the bottom of the ninth to win a game. Released October 1999
